Opinion Writer and Editorial Board Member, The Washington Post
Jonathan Capehart is an opinion writer for The Washington Post and a member of its editorial board. He hosts the “Cape Up” podcast at the paper and is an MSNBC contributor. Capehart was deputy editorial page editor of the New York Daily News from 2002 to 2004, and served on its editorial board from 1993 to 2000. In 1999, he and the board won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing for its 16-month editorial campaign to save the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. Capehart has also been a national affairs columnist at Bloomberg News and Michael Bloomberg’s policy advisor in his first successful campaign for New York City mayor.
