
Mitch Landrieu
Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator, The White House
Mitch Landrieu is a senior advisor and infrastructure coordinator for the White House. A former two-term mayor of New Orleans, he led the recovery from Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill and the removal of Confederate monuments. Landrieu is also the founder of racial- and economic-equity initiative E Pluribus Unum. He previously served two terms as lieutenant governor of Louisiana and 16 years as a state legislator. Landrieu is the author of In the Shadow of Statues: A White Southerner Confronts History. A past president of the US Conference of Mayors, he was named the 2015 Governing Magazine Public Official of the Year; in a 2016 Politico survey of mayors, Landrieu was voted America’s Top Turnaround Mayor.
