Susan Magsamen

Executive Director, International Arts + Mind Lab, Brain Science Institute, Johns Hopkins University; Co-Director, NeuroArts Blueprint Initiative

Susan Magsamen is the founder and executive director of the International Arts + Mind Lab, a neuroaesthetics initiative from the Pedersen Brain Science Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The author of the Impact Thinking model, she is the co-director of NeuroArts Blueprint initiative, in partnership with the Aspen Institute, advancing the science of the arts, health, and well-being. Previously, Magsamen created Curiosityville and Curiosity Kits personalized learning and multi-sensory products. She is the author of seven books, including The Classic Treasury of Childhood Wonder. Magsamen is a Royal Society of the Arts fellow and a strategic advisor to the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture, American Psychological Association, and National Association for the Education of Young Children.
